Sanders Shoes was originally established as a shoe repair business, by Arthur Sanders in 1912. The business flourished and soon expanded into a shoe shop. During the war years the shop suffered as it was nearly impossible to purchase any leather products as most was used in the manufacture of armed forces footwear and saddles. A image of the suppliers
After the war, when supply was eventually re-established the shop went from strength to strength and Arthur's son, Derek joined the business along with his younger sister Syssylt. Derek established an unusual sideline during this period and began manufacturing leather footballs (after a long period of experimentation to create a perfectly round ball).
Derek is still today involved in the business along with his son Andrew, who is the third generation of the Sanders family to be involved in the business.
As a business we are very proud of our heritage and the values under which the business was established. Today we still offer a range of quality footwear with exceptional customer service, and we hope to continue with this tradition for many years to come.
